Alaska Airlines Adds More Service to Hawaii

Alaska’s route map keeps expanding. Yesterday, the carrier completed its first flight from Seattle to Philadelphia. And this morning, Alaska announced even more new service: seasonal flights between Anchorage and Kona.

Starting November 10, Alaska will operate nonstop weekly flights between Alaska and Hawaii; this service will kick off in November and end in April. Naturally, the new route comes with some low-priced introductory fares. Tickets start at $249 each way for travel from November 10 through December 23; you have to book by June 14 to get the initial low fare. (For more information, check out Alaska’s press release.)

Currently, Alaska flies nonstop from Anchorage to Honolulu throughout the year. But additional service and some wallet-friendly introductory fares should be a boon to sun-seeking Alaskans. In a press release issued by the airline, Marilyn Romano, the carrier’s regional vice president, gave this statement: “Our loyal customers have been asking for Kona flights for years and we’re delighted to expand our Aloha service to give Alaskans convenient, nonstop access to another great Hawaiian Island.”
