Behold the Verruckt, the soon-to-be tallest, fastest, and steepest waterslide on the planet.
It’s not open yet, but come Memorial Day weekend 2014, brave humans can conquer the Verruckt—which means “insane” in German—at Schlitterbahn park in Kansas City, Kansas.
In a statement to the press, Schlitterbahn co-owner Jeff Henry said, “This new MEG-A-BLASTER speed-slide is going to wow our guests and is going to be a game changer for our industry. Our greatest challenge will be to find thrill seekers brave enough to ride.
According to the Kansas City Star, the ride will beat the waterslide world record currently held by Insano at Beach Park in Fortaleza, Brazil. You’ll have to climb 264 stairs before plunging 17 stories, and riders will reach speeds of up to 65 m.p.h.
Don’t worry about butt burn. There are rafts. Blue four-person rafts, carried aloft by a conveyer system that runs along the side of the slide, will take thrill-seekers down the Verruckt.
Would you ride this slide?
