Bohol Shopping
There are so many outdoor activities for visitors to Bohol that it can be hard to fit in time for shopping. But whether it’s shopping for souvenirs or local products, there are several places to look for items to enjoy and take back home.
Where to Go Shopping in Bohol
There are large souvenir stores in Bohol, such as the Aproniana Gift Shop. Smaller shops, like the Alturas or the ones located in tourist areas, are also good spots to locate a wide variety of cute gifts. Hinagdangan Cave is a cheap place to buy. There are a few merchant stalls outside the cave that sell such items as sarongs and everything to do with tarsiers. This includes tarsier key chains and tarsier magnets. The cheapest t-shirts can be found in those stalls. There are also some little shops running along the Loboc River. Located on Alona Beach and Panglao Bohol there are two stores called Jubelle’s Souvenir Shop that have a nice selection of merchandise.
What to Buy in Bohol
Typical items that tourists buy to pack in their suitcases for the journey home are Bohol shirts, tarsier slippers and local food products. Depending on the budget, there are branklets, painted magnets with different designs, key chains and mobile phone holders. Local purses make a nice gift as well as pearls and friendship bands. All of these items are relatively inexpensive.
Bohol Delicacies
Peanut kisses are a favorite item that visitors to Bohol like to take home with them. These can be pricey at souvenir shops, but they’re cheap in regular supermarkets. A good place to try is the supermarket located at the Island City Mall. Other Pasalubong treats, such as Kalamay and choco-peanut cookies, should also be bought in grocery stores, such as Grocery Island City Mall or the BQ Mall. These stores have put up shelves specifically for pasalubongs. Another option is to go to the factory where peanut kisses are produced.
Bohol Bee Farm
This is a regional farm where visitors can eat, sleep and buy locally made products direct. They make their own ice cream in regional flavors, which visitors to the farm should try. Items that are popular to purchase are locally-made souvenirs and handicrafts, which are woven from materials native to the area. Jams, sauces, pesto and sweets are also available.
