Bratislava, the capitol of Slovakia is a gorgeous, sweeping historical city, with an exciting array of places to shop: Indoor and outdoor markets, specialty boutiques, department stores: whatever your heart desires can be found here.

Stará tržnica

The Old Market Hall (Stará tržnica) in Bratislava dates back to 1910 and is a beautiful historical building, which now houses two cafes, a grocery shop, a cooking school and a soda water manufacturer! The star attraction, though is the Saturday market, where local Bratislavan farmers and artisans sell their fresh and handmade goods. The markets are open every Saturday from 10:00 am to 3pm, and from 8am in July and August. Buy delicious food, crafts, knitwear, clothes and textiles. All goods are very reasonably priced, and quality is the name of the game.
You can find the market near SNP Square, close to the Dunai Department Store.

Avion Shopping Mall

When only a mall will do, a local favorite is Avion Shopping Mall. It is huge, contains nearly everything, and has a particularly pleasant atmosphere. Plus, it has many other services you may need, including banks, a post office, a huge supermarket, even a movie theater. And shopping is fantastic: just about everything you need to buy can be found in one of its boutiques or department stores; and IKEA is close by! Avion is near the Bratislava airport, and is open everyday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

And….Tesco!

Want an international supermarket with just about everything for sale, including food, clothes, chocolates, housewares, wine? Happily Tesco is here in Bratislava. It’s open everyday, 8am till 10pm. Shop away!
