Celebrity plans upgrades for Mercury

From April 13 to 20, Celebrity’s Mercury will undergo a series of upgrades while it’s in dry dock. The cruise line is giving the ship a makeover prior to its seasons in Alaska, Hawaii, and Australia and New Zealand (Celebrity’s first visit Down Under).

Fourteen new balconies will be added to the back of the ship, and all passengers will benefit from the new line of bedding the cruise line is introducing to the ship.

The shopping area will be redone with a new skincare and cosmetics store and a high-end jewelry boutique. Equipment in the fitness center will receive an upgrade, and all cardio machines will sport individual TVs. In addition, the carpeting will be replaced in many of the Century’s public areas.
