Cool New In-Flight Meal Ordering System to Debut

Hate waiting for the meal cart to come down the aisle, only to find that they’ve run out of everything and you’re stuck with some rubbery chicken dish?

One budget airline has come up with a new type of food service on planes that we’d love to see other carriers adopt.

According to the Daily Mail, Air Baltic has debuted a new “drag and drop” in-flight meal ordering system.

Starting in May, passengers flying the airline can log in to Air Baltic’s website up to 24 hours before boarding, and drag items from a menu on to a virtual meal tray, to create their own custom meal.

Of course, the meals aren’t free—prices range from 1 Euro (about $1.28 according to Xe.com) for a bread roll, to 12 Euros for a meal of grilled pork with garlic and potatoes. (Don’t forget to add on a glass of red or white wine!)

Nutrition information for each item will be readily available during the ordering process, so flyers can be as healthy (or not!) as they like.

Would you use this option if it was available to you? Tell us why or why not in the comments!
