Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean located just south of Turkey and west of Lebanon. The island has a long history and attracts many visitors each year. Here are some of the most popular things to do while visiting Cyprus.

Kyrenia Castle

This castle is the most popular attraction in the town by far. Some people visit Cyprus just to visit the castle. The castle is centuries old and, like the island itself, has changed hands many times. Through it all, the castle has been preserved in its current state. The views when walking around the castle are exquisite. You can even climb to the top of the walls and walk around them for a better view.

There is a number of different exhibits in the castle. You could spend all day in there checking them out and not run out of things to do. They have mannequins dressed up in the military garb of their area. You can also see what the living quarters of different eras were like.  If you need a rest, stop in the café along the north wall of the castle.

Beaches

Like any island, many people visit Cyprus for the beautiful beaches. Landa Beach, often referred to as “Golden Beach” by the locals, is one of the more popular beaches in the area.

Diving in Cyprus is very popular with over thirty different diving locations available with clear water and beautiful rock formations and sea life.

The Castle of Paphos

This castle is another popular tourist destination on the island. It is located in the harbor and was first built in the 13th century, but then rebuilt in the following century after it was demolished by an earthquake.
