Cup o’ Joe? If it’s on any Delta flight, worldwide, it’ll be a cup o’ Starbucks.
Beginning this month, Delta will serve only Starbucks coffee throughout its network, either its Pike Place Roast or, by request, its Ready Brew Italian Roast Decaf. (Be forewarned: Ready Brew is Starbucks’ way of saying instant.)
According to Starbucks, the Pike Place Roast is “well-rounded with subtle notes of cocoa and toasted nuts balancing the smooth mouthfeel.” The instant Italian Roast is “decaffeinated dark roast coffee with robust character and sweet, smoky flavor.”
Delta expects to serve 68 million cups of java in 2015, brewed from 1.7 million pounds of coffee beans.
The airline began serving Starbucks on select flights in 2013.
The airline describes the tie-up as follows: “The move continues Delta’s effort to partner with high-quality, like-minded brands in an effort to enhance the overall traveling experience for customers.”
