According to a report by The Associated Press, Delta and its pilots union have reached a tentative deal on pay and benefits that could avert the union’s threatened strike. The pilots had said they would strike as early as next week if no deal was reached.
No details of the agreement are available yet, and the deal still has to be ratified by the pilot union’s nearly 6,000 rank-and-file members. Still, this is significant news for those wondering what would happen if Delta’s pilots did go on strike. For the first time in weeks, things are looking up for Delta ticket holders and frequent flyers. I’ll keep you posted if and when an official announcement is made.
