Why Visit Rome
Magnificent churches. Centuries of jaw-dropping art. Millennia-old ruins. Stylish shops. Heaping plates of pasta. Pretty piazzas lined with sidewalk cafes. Add up all these enticements, and a better question to ask might be: Why not visit Rome? A trip to the Eternal City should be on every traveler's bucket list.
When to Visit Rome
Thanks to the city's incredible popularity, there's really no quiet time to visit Rome. That said, the busiest times for Rome travel are the summer months and Easter week. Rome has fairly mild winters, so this is the best time to avoid the worst of the crowds. Spring and fall are also pleasant times to visit Rome.
Rome Weather
Temperatures can soar to an oppressive 100 degrees in July and August, Rome's warmest months. (The silver lining: It's a good excuse to eat gelato!) Summer evenings are pleasant, though, with temperatures falling into the 60s. Schedule Rome travel during spring or fall for a more mild climate. Winters rarely see snow.
