Why You Should Visit Amsterdam
Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands, is a picture-perfect destination for a European getaway. Bike culture is strong here, making the city easy to explore on two wheels. Pedal your way alongside historic canals that crisscross the city, stopping in waterfront cafes along the way.
When to Visit Amsterdam
Shoulder season (spring and fall) is a good time to visit Amsterdam if you want to avoid the crowds and still have nice weather. Avoid Queen’s Day and Liberation Day (the last weekend of April to the first weekend of May), which attract huge crowds and raise hotel prices. For tulips, mid-March to early May is best.
Average Amsterdam Weather
Visit Amsterdam in July or August, when the average high temperature is in the low 70s Fahrenheit. Visit Amsterdam in April or May for mild temperatures and less chance of rain, or in September and October when temperatures will still be on the warmer side, but precipitation might be higher.
