Dublin – What to Pack – Clothing and Supplies Tips

Dublin What to Pack

There’s nothing like the rolling green hills of Ireland to take your breath away. Not sure what to pack for your trip to Dublin? Make sure you don’t leave home without these five items.

Luggage

No matter what you have planned for your Dublin adventure, these luggage options are ideal for a short or long-term stay.

Rainy Day Gear

Dublin is notorious for rainy days, so don’t leave home without a waterproof jacket and boots. These are essential if you want to explore the city without getting soaked. If you do happen to forget a jacket, make sure you swing by one of the local shops to grab a poncho. You’re going to need it.

Clothes to Pack

Comfy, Sturdy Shoes

Dublin is a very walkable city, so toss a pair of comfortable walking shoes into your suitcase. If you usually like to wear something trendy on your feet, be warned. There are lots of cobblestone streets in Dublin, and you could easily lose your footing if you’re wearing shoes that aren’t very sturdy.

A Camera

Dublin is a photographer’s paradise! Your average disposable camera will serve you well on this trip, or you can stick with the camera on your smartphone. For serious photographers, keep your DSLR handy and pack a long lens.

Electrical Adapter

If you’re traveling from outside the UK, don’t forget to bring an adapter for all your electronic devices. The wall sockets are different from the ones you’ll find in the U.S. and other European countries. You should be able to find a British adapter online or at one of the local stores. You don’t want to come all this way and not be able to charge your phone or use your hair dryer!

Electronics to Pack

The Rough Guide to Dublin

This is an affordable guide book that comes highly recommended from travelers. You’ll find great details about all the local attractions, pubs, restaurants, etc. The maps in the back are excellent and easy to use, so you won’t have to worry about getting lost, either.
