Bars
Old Town is a popular nightlife destination, especially for beer lovers! Bar Engel, and Im Goldenen Ring are two favorites of both locals and tourists. The Braurerei Uerige takes the cake for oldest and best bar in Old Town. The home of the famous Dusseldorf Alt beer, Uerige is the perfect spot to enjoy a great beer while people watching. A pub crawl through Old Town will no doubt be filled with Dusseldorf’s famous Alt beer.
Ratinger Strasse is nothing but pubs, restaurants, and clubs, for as far as the eye can see. There are many great spots to choose from, and the bars and pubs located along this famous thoroughfare are always great fun. Zur Uel is almost always packed and is one of the more popular spots in town. This beer hall also serves a mix of traditional German food along with more continental fare. Leibevoll combines the atmosphere of a bar and a lounge. The front of the space is typical pub decor, with high top tables and sports on TV. In back is a lounge for a more chill experience. Both areas serve food and there are plenty of drinks available for every mood!
Nightclubs
Dr. Jazz is a favorite for those looking for a fun evening filled with great music. This jazz club plays more than jazz, and is always a fun time! El Papagayo is a popular nightclub with different themed nights throughout the week. Its central location makes it especially popular for tourists looking to stay within walking distance of their hotel. Auberge is great for hard rock fans, and the small space is known for its friendly bar staff and underground atmosphere. For those that are looking to dance, without the high prices of typical nightclubs, Zakk is an excellent choice. This spot is located near the main Dusseldorf station, and offers a fun night of dancing at pub prices.
The Media Port is another section of town that is well known for its nightlife. Nighttime is especially magical in this neighborhood, with the reflections on the Rhine River, and the lights of the Rhine Communications Tower. A stroll along the promenade will take you past many options for a night of dancing! There are also more low key bars, pubs, and restaurants in this area. Truly, you could come for an early dinner and be entertained well into the early hours of the morning.
