As current hotel promotions go, InterContinental’s “Accelerate” offer has the potential to be among the most lucrative. (That assertion has to be hedged somewhat, since the offers are personalized, according to IHG Rewards members’ travel histories, and may be more or less generous.)
But that offer is for bonus Rewards points. For those who prefer to earn airline miles for their stays, there’s a separate offer.
Offer Details
Through December 31, members of InterContinental’s IHG Rewards program can earn double miles for the second and subsequent stays in the programs of 33 airlines, including those of American, Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and United.
There’s a maximum of 10,000 bonus miles that may be earned through the promotion.
Registration is required.
Deal or No Deal
Double miles is a modest bonus, rendered even less compelling by its restriction to the second and subsequent stays.
The best that can be said about this offer is that it gives IHG Rewards members an additional bonus option for fall stays, and hence more flexibility.
Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
