Fall in love with Paris in February

Why would those of us from the chilly parts of North America take a winter visit to a European capital with a similar climate? In the case of Paris, the answer is simple: Cupid’s arrow flies there nonstop.

For $24.99, the Museum and Monument Pass gives you one day of unlimited admission to more than 70 participating venues. An even better value may be the $49.99 pass, which allows you three days to explore the same spots. Given that the Louvre alone costs 8.50 euros ($10.93) per adult, buying a pass may be a wise move for museum hoppers. An even cheaper option is to brave the crowds and go when your desired museums have free admission (the first Sunday of each month in the case of the Louvre).

One of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to see Paris is by taking public transportation. For the biggest savings on the Metro and bus lines, the Paris Visite Pass starts at $12.99 per day for travel inside the city center.
