Low-cost carrier JetBlue yesterday announced a new free-travel promotion linked to the fortunes of the NCAA’s top-ranked football team, the Ohio State Buckeyes. The airline says it will give away free round-trip flights “equal to the Buckeye score for each of the next four home games.” (That is, JetBlue will give away free flights equal to the number of points Ohio State scores in each game.)
The contest appears geared toward promoting JetBlue’s new service to Columbus, Ohio. “We are thrilled to be adding Columbus to our route map and thought this would be the perfect way to celebrate our new service to Columbus,” says Andrea Spiegel, the airline’s vice president of sales and marketing, through a press release.
The free tickets will be valid for travel on JetBlue’s four daily flights between Columbus and New York’s JFK airport, or on its one daily flight between Columbus and Boston. New York/Columbus service began on October 3. Boston/Columbus flights will start on October 18.
You can enter the contest online at JetBlue’s website.
