Genting Transportation
Genting, better known as the Genting Highlands or Resorts World Genting, is a hill resort nestled in the central hills of Malaysia. Visitors come from throughout the world to visit this famous resort, which requires the area to possess an extensive transportation network.
Cable Car
The Genting Skyway is located at the Gotong Jaya area. It sits 1,500 feet above sea level, and all tourist buses and private vans pass by here. This gives tourists and locals a chance to ride the 3.5 kilometer ride to the top of the Genting Highlands. On average, the ride will last 11 minutes along the lush tropical forests of the highlands. While the views are typically clear, they become quite foggy at the top. Conveniently, the station allows hotel and luggage check-in procedures to be completed at the station itself. Its upper station is located at the Highlands Hotel of Genting Highlands Resort. The Genting Skyway can carry more than 2,000 people per hour with eight passengers per gondola.
This is an inexpensive, fast, and convenient way of getting to Genting. The cable car may also be preferable for some people because of the high altitude. Because of the elevation, the spiraling ride by bus can be rather uncomfortable to people who are susceptible to motion sickness. One tip to remember is to buy a return ticket right after you get down from the bus and before you ride on the cable car. When you come back, just show the ticket to the guards beside the queue and they’ll put you in front of the line.
Bus
Various tour buses and tour bus companies offer day tours and overnight stays at the Genting Highlands complex. For a fast, convenient, and economical journey to Genting, travellers can use the Genting Express Bus Service. This service is available from Puduraya Bus Terminal, KL Sentral Station, Terminal Putra LRT Gombak, One Utama Petaling Jaya, and Kajang.
The resort’s world shuttle bus is a complementary shuttle that goes between the Highlands Hotel and the Genting Hotel Complex to the First World Hotel. This route will typically take 10 minutes through the winding roads. The schedule for pick-up and drop off between the two hotels is roughly every 15 minutes and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This service also runs throughout the whole year. The shuttle service offers a free drop off at the Genting Skyway, the Awana Genting Hotel, and at Gohtong Jaya Bus Stand. It also takes visitors to the Outdoor Theme Park.
