Over the holidays, I came close to having to pay an extra $90 in bag fees because my first-checked bag with Delta was a little over the 50-pound limit. Thankfully, I had a carryon with pockets and I ultimately avoided the fees—but not before coming to fully appreciate the idea of getting my bags getting my bags for free. And now Intercontinental Hotel Groups is offering just that by reimbursing you for checked bags when you stay at one of the 4,500 properties around the world.
Book a two-night consecutive weekend stay (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) at a participating hotel by April 30 and pay with a Visa card. Intercontinental Hotel Groups will issue you a rebate of up to $100, the equivalent of two checked bags.
To receive your rebate, you’ll have to fill out a required form and present a receipt of hotel stay and a receipt of paid bag fees on a flight that corresponds with your travel dates at the hotel.
