Thanksgiving air travel may be a little easier this year because of the opening of the mythical-sounding “Thanksgiving express lane,” two air corridors normally reserved for military flights.
According to this Associated Press article, the corridors will supplement the regularly used air routes between Florida and New England from Wednesday afternoon through Sunday.
The article touches on skepticism voiced within the airline industry and by the public that short-term steps such as this don’t address the major underlying air congestion problems. It also mentions that the FAA website will provide up-to-date information about airport delays, which is probably a good resource to bookmark this holiday season, express lane or no express lane.
