JetBlue launched its premium Mint service in June of last year, between New York and Los Angeles, and later expanded the service to include New York – San Francisco flights.
Boasting fully lie-flat seats and upgraded meal service, at prices well below those charged by American, Delta, and United for first or business class on their Transcon flights, Mint was a welcome option for travelers seeking to fly in style without breaking the bank. And based on a year’s worth of sales and customer feedback, JetBlue is apparently confident that Mint will be welcome in other markets as well.
In March 2016, Mint service will be added on JetBlue’s Boston – San Francisco flights; and later that fall, Boston – Los Angeles flights will feature Mint service as well. Both routes will be served with “up to three daily roundtrips.”
Boston – San Francisco flights will be available for booking beginning on July 8, 2015.
JetBlue is also planning to offer Mint service to the Caribbean on a seasonal basis, with one weekly roundtrip flight between Boston and Barbados launching in March 2016.
The new Mint service is part of a larger expansion of JetBlue’s Boston operations, including new service to Nashville; additional daily flights to Cleveland, Fort Lauderdale, New York, Orlando, Raleigh/Durham, San Juan, and Tampa; and additional weekend flights to Aruba, Barbados, Cancun, Turks and Caicos, Punta Cana, St. Maarten, and Liberia, Costa Rica.
When the Nashville service starts up in the spring of 2016, it will be JetBlue’s 60th nonstop destination from Boston, where it’s already the dominant airline.
