Routes to Mandu

There are a number of ways you can reach Mandu. You can reach the city from Indore, from Dhar, from Mumbai or Maheshwar. For travelers coming from Mumbai, the best way would be to arrive in Maheshwar in the evening. Maheshwar is about 510 kilometers from Mumbai. The traveler can rest here for two days before proceeding on the morning of the third day to Mandu, a distance of 66 kilometers. The driving time from Maheshwar to Mandu is approximately one hour. However, vehicles with lower horsepower may take up to 2 hours. The drive to Mandu will take you through dense forests and give you a good view of the wildlife in the area.

Daily Bus to Mandu from Indore

When traveling to Mandu from Pithampur or Mandu, you can take the daily State Transport buses from Indore. If you plan on traveling to Mandu and making a return journey on the same day, you must ensure that you catch the bus as early as 6.00 am. The return bus from Mandu usually leaves at 4.00 pm. Each of the journeys from one side takes about 3 hours.
