Mauritius is a relatively quiet country in East Africa. The country is an island with amazing beaches, tropical reefs and plenty of sunshine. As such, most people come for the activities they can partake in during the day time. However, while there may not be a huge Mauritius nightlife on this island, there are still a few things to do once the sun sets. Here is a bit more about the places you can explore after dark.

Casinos

One of the things you can do in the evening in Mauritius is gamble. There are a few small casinos on the island. Those casinos include Caudan’s Casino and Trou Aux Biches Casino. However, keep in mind that these are more like card houses than casinos. You will find many table and card games, but not slot machines.

Bars

If drinking is more your style, there are a lot of bars that you can visit on the island. Most of the resorts have pool bars by their pool area, but more do require you to be a resort guest in order to enjoy those drinks. If you are bored with the bar at your hotel or want to visit a local bar, check out Quarter Deck, Zulu Tamtam or Bananas.

Pool Parties

Mauritius does not really have clubs. But this does not mean that you cannot dance. Many of the resorts host pool parties on the weekends during prime tourist season. Check with your hotel to find out if they are hosting any pool parties during your stay and plan on going out that night. It may be the wildest night you will enjoy in this otherwise quiet beach island.
