General Nightlife in Kuwait

You may be excited to see Kuwait at night from the plane, but it won’t be the same on the ground. Alcohol and disco are forbidden, but there are malls, beaches, and restaurants available at all hours. There are also the car races that occur after midnight on Jahra road.

A Stroll On The Beach

In Kuwait City there are several good places for shopping and modest people watching. One of the best places to go at night is the beach. The beaches are partially lit up by the city lights, and often frequented by locals and travelers. There are beach promenades on two sides of Kuwait city, but the southern one is the least cluttered. There is a modest dress code, and jumping in the water is discouraged due to the high amount of oil and sewage.

The Marina Crescent Nightlife

In a country with very little nightlife, the Marina Crescent offers quite a respite. It is a two-floor curved complex of restaurants and cafés, overlooking a marina filled with expensive yachts, and is conveniently attached to Marina Mall, one of Kuwait’s most frequented shopping centers. The complex gets busy at night with people dining, smoking shisha, or drinking nonalcoholic beverages.
