The Philippine island of Panglao is known for its tropical beaches, resorts and relaxed atmosphere. While during the day, you can go scuba diving, wildlife watching or tour the island’s beauty, but at night, it’s time for socializing, eating and drinking.

Alona Beach

Alona beach is the center point for night life on the island. There, you can find a variety of activities including fire dancers and your choice of restaurants and bars. Simply take a stroll down the beach past the resorts at night and you’ll likely find something going on right on the beach. Most of the establishments close at about 10 p.m., but some of the bars will stay open until the last person leaves. Even the bars that stay open turn down the music late at night and people do not mill around outside of them. This makes it easy to stroll down the beach and enjoy the natural sounds of the ocean.

Bars and Night Clubs

Several bars, restaurants and night clubs are located near the resorts. Many of them are very casual, so you can come in as you are right in off the beach. If you like music, then try the Jasz restaurant which has a live band on Friday nights. If you’re hungry, there are several stands that sell fresh seafood right off the grill all along Alona beach. Oops bar is another popular spot located in the middle of the beach. They serve food, made to order, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in addition to serving beer. Sam’s, located next to Oops, often has music playing. Both of these bars are ones that are likely to be open past 10 p.m.
