One of the places that locals go for fun is the Plaza del Mercado. This fresh produce market becomes the center of nightlife on Thursday and Friday nights. Most venues have no cover, so you’re free to stop in and grab a few drinks. The dress code is very relaxed for the most part.

Clubs

There are many clubs to discover throughout the country. In San Juan, El San Juan Hotel and Casino used to be called Babylon. Today, it still has a large dance floor, and the DJs play a mix of house, rap, and local music. Visitors should know that drinks can be a little pricey. Another popular spot in San Juan is the Wyndham El San Juan. Typically, there’s a decent line that forms after 11 p.m. on the weekends, and the cover for non-residents of the hotel is $10. The music is good, and there is plenty of space, tables, and a dance floor. Finally, people in San Juan looking for after hours entertainment can visit Cudeta. Occasionally there’s a cover charge, but it’s one of the few places to go after 2 a.m.
