Pulau Perhentian Kecil Transportation

If you are going to Pulau from Kuala Lumpur, the fastest way to get to the jetty is by flying.

Plane

For budget travelers, Air Asia flights depart from the new low cost carrier terminal (LLCT,) which is about 20 minutes away from KLIA. There are buses that provide transportation between KLIA and LCCT. The flight is about 50 minutes long. Once you arrive at the airport, take a cab to the Kuala Besut jetty.

There’s a special counter at the airport just outside the arrival hall where you can hire a cab to Kuala Besut. The cab ride is about 1 hour long.

If you catch the morning flight at 7:40 am, you can be at the jetty by 10:00 am and catch the 11:00 am boat.

Bus

If you would like to take the bus from Kuala Lumpur, there are two bus companies that go to Kuala Besut bus station directly. The night bus is definitely the cheapest way to go to the island. Night buses leave from Hentian Putra Station in Kuala Lumpur and go to Kuala Besut.
Both Mutiara and Mahligai depart every night at 9 pm and arrive in Kuala Besut around 5 am.

If there are no tickets left, there’s an alternative. Take the bus from Hentian Putra Station in Kuala Lumpur to Jerteh, then hire a taxi from Jerteh to Kuala Besut. You can also get a bus to Pasir Putih Kelantan and then get a taxi to Kuala Besut.
