San Jose is known for its famed Latin-influenced nightlife. The capital of Costa Rica during the day, at night it’s a party. Here are some tips on San Jose Nightlife, clubs, and bars.

Clubs

The Blue Marlin club has a casino, lots of games on big screens, and great live music to dance the night away. It’s open 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Key Largo is just across the street and features live music, and nearby Terra U is also popular with the college crowd. San Jose visitors should be aware that prostitution is legal here.

El Pueblo

El Pueblo is downtown and essentially a mall of clubs. There are at least 10 different types of clubs, so you’re likely to find one with music and atmosphere you enjoy. From small intimate clubs to loud music venues, this area has something for everyone. You can find a rock club, Latin music bars, reggae spots, and many other types of entertainment.

Bars

If you want to hang out with some friends in a more intimate envrionement there are some smaller bars around. These are generally quieter and less crowded with dancers, though they’ll still have music. Vyrus is a popular spot as well as Monkey Bar. Both are a casual place to relax with friends.
