With the multitude of designer stores, Broadway shows, and award-winning restaurants, a trip to New York City can offer something for everyone, but it can also quickly send your budget spiraling out of control. However, with several promotions from NYC & Company, you can stay in upscale digs, take in a show, and sample fine dining without the luxury price tag.
Through Friday, and again from next week Monday to Friday, the Big Apple hosts the 16th annual NYC Restaurant Week. With special prices at more than 200 of the city’s best restaurants, you can feast like royalty while in this culinary capital and still stick to a budget. Participating restaurants are offering three-course prix-fixe lunches for $24.07 and three-course prix-fixe dinners for $35 (beverages, taxes, and gratuities not included). See the full list of restaurants and reserve your table ahead of time to guarantee a spot during this 10-day event.
For even more savings, get discounts on shopping, hotels, nightlife, museums, and tours with the Summer Breaks savings card. Simply download the free card and present it to save on everything from Internet cafes to murder mystery dinner theaters. You must pay with your American Express card to get the discounts. Offering about 15 percent off at each participating location, the savings card doesn’t seem worthy of signing up for an AmEx card just to take advantage of these discounts. But if you have an AmEx card and were already planning on visiting some of the participating museums and shops, it can’t hurt to print it out. The deal is available through Labor Day.
After a day of fine dining and high culture, what better place to rest your head than at a luxury hotel? If you’re looking to truly indulge on a long weekend, stay at one of 10 Signature Collection hotels for two nights, and receive a third night free when you use your AmEx card. From the Trump International Hotel & Tower to the St. Regis Hotel, this third-night-free offer can save you anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars, depending on how much you are willing to splurge on the first two nights.
If you’re traveling from out of town and need to book a flight, you can find the lowest prices for your route by comparing airfares from multiple travel providers with our price-comparison tool.
