Let’s all hope that “London Bridge” isn’t falling fall down when the Seabourn Pride sails under it. The small ship will resume cruising under the Tower Bridge when it calls in London in 2006 (the real London Bridge is elsewhere on the Thames). The Pride is one of only a few cruise ships able to navigate the Thames River past the bridge.
If you think sailing under the famous bridge is as cool as I do, you’ve got two chances to experience it this summer. The Pride will call in London on June 3 following a 14-day European food-and-wine festival cruise (now, that’s my kind of cruise), and on September 29 to begin a 14-day transatlantic voyage. A third cruise will sail under the bridge on August 31 but as it’s a private charter, we’re not invited along.
My fair ladies and gentlemen who wish to book one of these cruises should do so quickly before the summer sailings sell out. For reservations, call 800-929-9391 or a travel agent.
