Smokers may want to avoid Sheraton hotels from here on out (or make sure to book a room with a balcony): USA Today reports that all Sheraton properties will be smoke-free by December 31. This encompasses more than 300 hotels throughout the U.S. and Canada, as well as the Caribbean.
In addition to all rooms being smoke-free, common areas will be closed off to smokers as well. There will be designated smoking areas outdoors, though.
Current smoking rooms are undergoing cleaning treatments, with carpets, furniture, walls, and more receiving a thorough scrubbing. The company expects to clean more than 8,000 rooms to accommodate the new rule.
