The heart of Sorrento is the Piazza Tasso. From here, you can walk to Via San Cesareo, the main shopping street of Sorrento, and find handicrafts, inlaid works, artistic ceramics, scented wax, or delicacies like limoncello sweets, rosolio liqueur, jams, and preserved vegetables. You can even buy silver jewels, corals, cameos, valuable embroideries on table-cloths, handkerchiefs, and Neapolitan crib figurines. Piazza Tasso comes alive at night, and it’s the first place many people go before filtering out to other parts of the city.

Local Bars

There are several popular bars in the city. Bar Fauno is located in the center of the Piazza Tasso, and though slightly more expensive, is a fantastic place to stop for a drink. A beautiful location to stop in is the Foreigners Club. It’s an ideal place to relax with a drink or take a light lunch in the tea garden, which overlooks the Bay of Naples. If you’re not sure where to go, travel down Via San Cesareo. It hosts a number of restaurants, trattorias, and bars. Some of these places get very busy at night, and live music is common along the entire street.
