The trails are mostly wide gravel paths, and from the mountains whales can even be seen in the ocean. The trail takes about two to three hours to finish, but is worth every step. Another trail is the Jack Pine Trail, which offers views of Cape Breton’s shoreline and the magnificent vistas over the water. There are also museums such as the Whale Interpretive Center, which is located in the fishing village of Pleasant Bay. It showcases the 16 types of whales that are found off the coast of Nova Scotia.

Wildlife Lovers Galore  

Whale watching tours have become a popular thing and the best time to see whales are from May to mid-October. You might see fin whales, humpback, and pilot, as well as dolphins/porpoises.
