Guimaras is a province in the Philippines that is located between the islands of Panay and Negros. Visitors to the area will find a tropical paradise where there are many things to do.

The Beaches

Natago Beach is a beautiful area with pristine, clear water and a secluded cove. Though one of the loveliest areas in the region, it is a part of private resort, meaning you will have to pay to visit. Another place to visit is Guisi Beach, which is located just below the Guisi lighthouse. The beach has nearly white sands and is littered with beautiful rock formations. Like Natago though, this beautiful location is part of a private resort and requires payment to visit.

Trappist Monastery

Trappist Monastery is a beautiful church in the heart of the Guimaras Island. This is an exquisite experience and a refreshing way to take a break from the usual daytime adventuring in Guimaras. The monastery also sells some excellent products, including mango jam, guava jelly, pineapple jam, mango bars, otap, biscocho, and more.

Other Sights

On top of the mountain in Guisi Point in Dolores, Nueva Valencia, you will see the skeletal remains of what used to be a 58-foot high octagonal cylindrical tower. This is an old Spanish lighthouse that was built between 1894 and 1896. This is an excellent place to visit to take a look back on the island’s history. Another place to visit is Jordan’s Plaza, officially among the smallest plazas in the world and the smallest in the Philippines.
