Wilsons Promontory National Park, or the Prom, is a popular destination for those visiting Australia. At approximately 195 square miles, there’s many things to do there.

See All the Birds and Other Animals

One of the draws of Australia is the exotic wildlife. The Prom is home to many creatures that are worth seeing.

You can see some animals during the day, and many others after dark. Birdwatching is popular, as the Prom contains numerous species of birdlife.

Scale and Admire Mount Oberon and Mount Bishop

You can see the Mount Oberon from the Tidal River. You can drive up about halfway, then climb it in about half an hour. From the top, you can see all the vistas around you, including the bays, the sea, and some islands.

Mount Bishop also affords some nice views. Both places are nice for picturing taking, and admiring the colorful native flowers that grow on and around them.

Enjoy the Beaches

There’s a lot of beach at the Prom. It’s possible to enjoy all the coastline has to offer, as you would at any beach.

Some beaches are more suitable for certain activities than others. Squeaky Beach is suitable for normal beach activities. Norman Beach works well for gentle swimming activity.

Go For a Hike, or a Leisurely Stroll

The Prom offers many places for dedicated hiking. It also has many places where you can take a stroll. For example, the Loo-Errn track along the south bank of the Tidal River has a boardwalk for you to enjoy.

For more inland views, try Millers Landing Nature Walk. It’s a short track where you can see different types of wildlife and a stand of mangroves.
