Crime is far more prevalent in Brazil than it is at home. Tourists can be pick pocketed, robbed or assaulted. The best way to combat this is to use common sense. As a tourist, you want to stay in areas where other tourists stay. Police tend to protect these areas more heavily. Limit the amount of cash and jewelry you have on you at any given time. And stay out of the slums or areas where drug use is heavily rampant.

Poisonous Trees and Fruits

Another treat in Brazil is the many poisonous trees and fruits. There are many trees in Brazil that grow various types of fruit, including ones that look like figs. Tourists may pick this fruit and eat it, hoping to get a taste of a local flavor. Unfortunately, many of these fruits that grow on these trees are poisonous or harmful to humans. As such, you should avoiding picking any fruit off of trees or bushes and eating it. If you want to try local fruit, stick to fruit that is bought at the markets.

Health Concerns

The last danger of traveling to Brazil is health concerns. Some of the water in Brazil is filled with garbage and feces, bringing up e coli concerns. Mosquitoes in the region may carry Zika. And there is a risk of Malaria when traveling in the jungle region. Always wear bug repellent in Brazil and stay out of areas that look dirty. If you develop any strange symptoms or health concerns, seek medical attention immediately.
