You can avoid most potentially dangerous destinations and situations by simply practicing common sense. Always go out in a group whenever possible. If you have to walk at night, stay to well lit areas. If you don’t feel comfortable walking in a particular area, call a cab or Uber and have them drive you to your destination. Of course, most of the sights and attractions of St. Louis are not in East Saint Louis, so unless you have a specific reason to visit, this likely isn’t a spot you’ll be checking out.

Parking Options in St. Louis

Parking in St. Louis is, for the most part, alright. You can park on the street for a restaurant or other activity as long as you plan on being back before it gets dark. There are plenty of open lots for parking when going to a sporting event, which are more than fine. However, only use these open lots if you plan on leaving after the game. Attendants are on hand only for a short time after the game and these areas can become prime crime locations. Parking in a covered garage is always recommended, but you can park on the street and around town when only visiting for a few hours.
