Sunny Beach Warnings and Dangers
Sunny Beach sounds like a grand place to visit, relax, and have fun, but that’s not always true in this city in Bulgaria. Here are some warnings and dangers to be aware of, because Sunny Beach is not the kind of place where you want to visit alone or at night.

Avoid Sunny Beach Money Changers and Taxi Service
Be sure to check the currency conversion rate before you enter Sunny Beach and stay away from the exchange tables. If you do not know the currency conversion rate, cashiers will cheat you out of a large percentage of your money. If you need to convert your currency, use a real bank. The same advice goes for taxi service. Taxis are the most expensive rides you can find in Sunny Beach. They look for easy targets and will often overcharge you.
Be Careful of ATM Thefts
Avoid ATM and PIN thefts. People will steal your PIN from your debit card with an ATM reading machine. Always shield your PIN information when you visit an ATM machine. Be sure no one is lurking around and looking over your shoulder.
Avoid Pickpockets
You can lose their money easily to pickpockets. Most groups consist of women and at least three or more children. The pickpockets are mostly found on the Seaside Promenade, near the Kuban hotel, close to the main pier, and on the Central Alley of Sunny Beach. The pickpockets are well dressed and blend in easily with tourists and natives. Their pickpocketing skills are highly advanced and they operate like an organized crime unit.
Be wary of thieves working near the buses in Nessebar. They are known to steal people’s money from their pockets as they rush off the bus; the thieves usually jam the door, forcing people to remain stationary, long enough to lift their wallet or remove some cash from their purse.
These people will also come up to you and offer you sex in exchange for money. Do not be fooled. They will take your money and disappear.
Avoid the Clubs on Sunny Beach
The majority of the clubs on Sunny Beach are mafia-owned and operated, and should be avoided at all costs. The safest clubs to visit are Eisberg and Lazur. These clubs are located within the complex of the Sunny Beach resort.
