Thasos Island Warnings and Dangers
Thasos is a beautiful island destination, but there are some warnings you should heed while traveling there. Particularly watch for snakes, and don’t leave your valuables unattended while you are on the beach.
Thasos Snakes
Thasos is best known for its beaches, but you may also encounter snakes. Not all of the snakes on Thasos are dangerous, but some are. The most common snake is the Montpellier, which is mildly venomous. It’s often found in the olive groves.
No Unattended Valuables
Leaving valuables unattended on the beach while swimming is a bad idea. It’s advisable to leave your important documents in your hotel room as well, locked in a hotel safe, or inside your suitcase. Only take the amount of money you believe you will need, and no more.
