When you’re on vacation, you will likely want to buy a bunch of things before you head back home. However, there are tourist traps in Sevilla that will make you think twice.

Boat Trip

The boat trip takes you on the Guadalquivir River. Don’t expect many photo ops, you’re not going to see anything that is eye-catching. Most of the landmarks that are seen on the boat trip are bridges which you can easily have access to on your own by walking or taking the bus. Expect to pay 20 Euros for just a 20-minute tour.

Horse Carriage

The horse and carriage may look nice, but it comes with a huge price tag. On the tour, the driver tells the group about the city’s history and the monuments. Expect to pay 80 Euros for a half an hour.

Taxis

Beware of the Seville Taxis. When customers call for a taxi, they are already being charged for the drivers traveling to their locations on top of the regular service. There are times when customers don’t know where a taxi is located, which causes them to be charged exorbitant fees. If you’re in doubt, contact an official tourist office for credible information.

Shopping at Souvenir Shops

It can be tempting to shop at the souvenir shops. Be leery about purchasing items such as flamenco dresses as it will be obvious that you are a tourist. Another item that is not worth purchasing is the embroidered fringed shawl which is made of polyester. The fringe may begin falling off by the first time you wear it. Although boutiques are more expensive, you’re much better off.
