Bah, humbug, said United on Friday as it doubled its fuel surcharge, tacking on $10 per round-trip flight. The surcharge applies to domestic flights across the U.S., excluding Hawaii. A United spokesperson, Jeff Kovick, said the increase will “help … offset record-breaking fuel costs.”
United had introduced its previous $5 fuel surcharge in early November.
Delta matched United’s increase on Friday, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
