We just completed our first Untour (and not our last) going to the Heartland of Switzerland. Untours is a good company if you want independent travel with a little help. Through them we were able to choose an apartment in a private home which was located conveniently 10 min. from the RR station.
Untours also provided us with a Swiss Rail pass which took care of all of our local transportation by rail as well as most bus, boat and museum fees. Two very helpful booklets describing attractions and great hikes in our area were also provided.
A representative met us at the Zurich airport and saw that we got to our apartment with was complete with food for breakfast. An orientation session was very helpful in showing us how to use the transportation system. Two optional tours were offered which we enjoyed.
We stayed in Lungern which is a charming little town with lots of nearby hiking. From here it was easy to get to Lucerne, Interlaken and Thun if you want to explore the cities. Hiking in the Oberland region was easily within reach.
We hand-pick everything we recommend and select items through testing and reviews. Some products are sent to us free of charge with no incentive to offer a favorable review. We offer our unbiased opinions and do not accept compensation to review products. All items are in stock and prices are accurate at the time of publication. If you buy something through our links, we may earn a commission.
