After the [% 328232 | | recent fire %] on the Star Princess, Princess Cruises has chosen to cancel the remainder of the current sailing, as well as the following cruise scheduled to depart Ft. Lauderdale on March 26.
Passengers on both sailings will receive a full refund of their cruise and airfare, reimbursement for any out-of-pocket expenses incurred by the change, and a credit valued at 25 percent of the cost of the cancelled cruise to be applied toward a future Princess cruise.
In addition, current passengers staying in unaffected cabins will be allowed to remain onboard until their flight home as the ship is fully operational and can provide full services to guests. Princess will provide passengers in the approximately 100 cabins affected by the fire with hotel accommodations in Montego Bay.
During the next few days, Princess will assess the damages and determine a repair schedule. Once that is set, the line will contact any passengers on upcoming cruises whose cabins may be affected by the repair work.
