US Airways has fired a shot at JetBlue’s successful New York/Boston route in another salvo between the two carriers. The “shot” this time is a massive fare reduction on hourly shuttle service from LaGuardia and Logan resulting in flights that are up to 54 percent cheaper on 14-day advance purchase seats. US Airways’s cheapest seats now go for $100 on the route.
New York/Boston is a popular shuttle route. Last week JetBlue announced its fall sale prices, which included discounts on the route; US Airways’ price reduction is seen as a move to keep up with the competition.
