Weekend in St. Augustine, FL

My life partner David and I went to St. Augustine, FL for the weekend. We stayed at a Country Inn and Suites and it was wonderful. The best part of the whole weekend were a couple of Amazing and Great things we did.

First we had dinner at this most incredible restaurant called “Caps by the Water”. We sat outside and the water was right there, the whole place reminded me of some tropical hideaway, so calming and tranquil. The food was absolutely amazing and we just sat there and did not want to leave.

Then the next day we drove up to Amelia Island, Now we did not know that you had to take a Ferry across from Mayport. We met a couple who knew all about the surrounding areas and they gave us a summary of all the area and though their stories we learned a great deal. We drove up to Amelia Island and saw how Beautiful it is and how rich in History it is. We had lunch by the Water and laughed as we people watched. One Dad was carrying his little boy on his shoulders and the little guy was just in awe of all the sites and sounds.

Afterwards, we drove to a old Plantation and toured it. It stuck my heart that so many years ago, Florida had slaves and I wondered what it would have been like living in that era.

When we got back to St. Augustine we walked into town and had the BEST Tacos EVER. Who would have thought Tacos in St. Augustine? But upstairs at this restraunt over looking the Water with 1970’s music in the back ground we sat there and had dinner. We walked though old St. Augustine in the dark and it was a bit scary but fun.

Our time there was so really really wonderful and I cannot wait to go back.
