What We’re Reading: Three Inspirational Travel Blogs

This week, we’re putting an aesthetic spin on our regular roundup of travel stories. Below are three travel pictorials that are, to put it mildly, absolutely stunning. These inspiring shots could also provide an idea or two for a future vacation.  

Winter in the Lake District

Bald Hiker‘s series of photos from a snowy walk up the Old Man of Coniston in England’s Lake District will get you excited for winter. See shots of the snow-dusted English countryside, shadows cast by mountains, and the winter sun setting behind lofty peaks. And remember: Winter is low season for travel to England, so if you feel inspired to go, you’ll likely find some fantastic airfare and hotel deals this season.

Dawn

On Another Something and Company, feast your eyes on “Dawn,” shots that photographer Yu Yamauchi took from the top of Mt. Fuji. The airy, ethereal pictures of the atmosphere from 3,000 meters above sea level are simply stunning.

The Magical Mojave

Gorgeous photo blogs are an especially enjoyable treat when they feature toasty, sun-drenched destinations, which are all the more lovely to look at when it’s sleeting outside (as it has been here in Boston). BigBANG Studio’s collection of images from the Mojave Desert—arid landscapes, a sleeping corgi, friends gathered around a bonfire at night—make us feel like we could almost hear the coyotes calling.
