Northwest Airlines, in bankruptcy since September and staring down a major labor dispute with its pilots union, reached a tentative agreement today with those pilots on a deal that (if ratified) would spare the airline from a crippling strike.
Union leaders are now expected to vote on whether or not to send the deal to “rank-and-file” members. Thus far, no details on the arrangement have been disclosed. Northwest has been looking for about $1.4 billion in labor concessions.
